Photo Tour to Norway
Available for individual booking

The Aurora Borealis, or Northern Lights, is undoubtedly one of the most spectacular natural phenomena in the sky.

When the green lights begin to dance across the Norwegian sky in the winter months, the heart of every photographer races. The region around Tromsø, the Senja Peninsula, and the Lofoten Islands are among the best spots in the world to see the Northern Lights. Spectacular landscapes, good accessibility, ideal northern latitude (just above the Arctic Circle), and excellent infrastructure make these places hotspots for aurora viewing.

Tromsø and Senja, I combine two of these locations in one tour. While Senja offers spectacular rock formations, Tromsø boasts a variety of different photographic spots.

Join me on an extraordinary Northern Lights journey!

Day 1

Arrival in Tromsø. The flight can be booked independently or through rolfgemperle.ch. Meeting point is at 2:30 PM at Tromsø Airport or directly at the hotel.
After checking into the hotel and consulting the weather and activity apps, we head straight out into the field.

Day 2-4

The daily program will depend on the weather, our efforts from the previous night, and the expected aurora activity for the coming night. The general plan is to have an early dinner and then drive to an appropriate photography spot, depending on the weather. The Tromsø region offers a wide range of opportunities to see the Northern Lights at their best.
During the day, we will certainly also have the chance to photograph the beautiful Norwegian winter landscape. In case of bad weather, visiting the Polar Museum and the Arctic Cathedral is almost a must.

Day 5

Today we leave Tromsø and drive to Senja. The drive takes about 3.5 hours. Our accommodation is located on the Senja Peninsula in Torsken at Skipsfjord. After settling into our accommodation, we will head out to another suitable spot for the nightly «Northern Lights hunt.»

Day 6-8

The days on Senja follow the same pattern as in Tromsø. The landscape on Senja is even more spectacular than in Tromsø, so we will be on the lookout for beautiful landscape motifs during the day.

Day 9

Today we bid farewell to Senja and return to Tromsø. Depending on the situation, we will set out one last time in search of the perfect Aurora Borealis.
Overnight stay at the same hotel as the first days.

Day 10

After lunch, we head to the airport for our return flight.

Looking forward to an incredible journey!
